He then transferred to the University of California, Berkeley, where he played for two more seasons. In his final season at Berkeley, he led the team to a 10-2 record and a victory in the Holiday Bowl.
In 2005, Rodgers was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the first round of the NFL draft. In his first three seasons, he served as a backup to Brett Favre, one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history. During this time, Rodgers learned from Favre and worked hard to improve his skills.
In 2008, Rodgers became the starting quarterback for the Packers. He had big shoes to fill, as Favre had been the team's quarterback for 16 seasons and had led the team to a Super Bowl victory in 1997. Rodgers quickly proved himself to be a capable and talented quarterback. In his first season as a starter, he threw for over 4,000 yards and 28 touchdowns. He led the team to a 6-10 record, but it was clear that he was the future of the franchise.
Over the next few seasons, Rodgers continued to improve and establish himself as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. In 2010, he led the Packers to a Super Bowl victory, throwing for 304 yards and three touchdowns in the championship game. He was named the game's Most Valuable Player.
Since then, Rodgers has continued to play at a high level. He has been named to the Pro Bowl 9 times and has won numerous other awards, including the NFL Most Valuable Player Award in 2011, 2014, and 2020. He holds many Packers and NFL records, including the highest career passer rating in NFL history.
Off the field, Rodgers is known for his philanthropy and activism. He has been involved in many charitable organizations, including the MACC Fund (Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer) and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. He is also an advocate for environmentalism and has invested in sustainable technologies.
In recent years, Rodgers has made headlines for his contract negotiations with the Packers. In 2021, there were rumors that he was unhappy with the team's management and might want to be traded. However, he ultimately decided to stay with the Packers for at least one more season.
Despite the ups and downs of his career, Aaron Rodgers is widely regarded as one of the best quarterbacks of all time. His talent, work ethic, and leadership have made him a beloved figure in Green Bay and a respected figure throughout the NFL.
